Cure Cancer UCL - Funding Research for the fight against Cancer

For some time now I have been searching for a charity to really get behind, I honestly believe there is no better feeling than helping others and trying to make a change.

When picking a charity it is always hard not to be steered towards the bigger charities, of course, they have the most advertising coverage... they get the message across... but they also have to pay for these marketing strategies, and a lot of the money to cover this, unfortunately comes from the money that is raised.

Cure Cancer UCL Bracelets - Only £5.00!
I was initially made aware of Cure for Cancer when I attended Essex Fashion Week, Natasha Hamilton, who works for the charity on a voluntary basis was there selling Cure Cancer awareness bracelets, I was first attracted to them as they really reminded me of the 'Karma Bracelets' that are in all the glossies at the moment... but when Natasha told me the story behind them, why they were being sold and how much they were I had to have one... I was with my good friend, Joe Johnson's young nieces at the time.. and as well as being little fashionistas they were also moved by the plight of Cure Cancer so they both got one each and were happily showed them off for the rest of the day!

Having stayed in touch with Natasha and researched further into Cure Cancer, and what they stand for, I have decided that this is definitely the charity that I will be backing for 2012... Each Bracelet costs the charity £2.50 and they are sold on for £5.00, which I think is ridiculously cheap.. The whole £2.50 profit goes direct to the fund... no admin fee's are taken at all!

Patron Rachel Stevens with Co-Founder Carole Sobell
Upon further research I was pleasantly surprised that Rachel Stevens is patron of the charity, Rachel is a great role model and I believe that with her backing, and further backing from the general public Cure Cancer UCL could really make a difference! Furthermore rumour has is that a further patron is to join the team soon... so watch this space!

Cure Cancer are due to add a new design to their range in the coming weeks, I have a sneaky peek of the design below...The heart design is ideal as literally EVERYONE at the charity put their HEART and soul into working with UCL to raise money towards machinery and research that could
help revolutionise a Cure for Cancer...
'Heart' Design available soon

I am currently looking for ideas (within reason), of things I could do to help raise a little money for the charity, and am happy to receive your suggestions via twitter KateVonBroad so get your ideas over to me and I will let you know which I decide, and when!

Cure Cancer have a couple of fund raising events coming up, which I have detailed below, along with contacts of the guys at the charity that you should contact for further info and if you would like to purchase one of their gorgeous bracelets... all my fashionista friends have already put an order in with me so you better get in quick before they sell out!!
